I have a few ideas, and I'll say 'em all here. I have the tools to make any of these, I've done lots of game dev. Do you have other ideas? What do you think of these? Comment below!

Action game: A demon has, for whatever reason, found it's way to heaven. A fast paced twin stick shooter about killing your way through fields of angels. Watch them explode into gorey bits, slash them in half with blades, or get really close for animated take downs. Maybe some animated rapes that restore play HP, or something. The inspiration is doom.

Dungeon manager: Your dungeon is always under attack by various self appointed heroes. Destroy their morale and level up your monsters. Capture, torture, breed, or kill various heroes, sometimes all 4 in that order. Just set up the rooms and the monsters there in and don't let any heroes find their way to your throne. Unless you want to take part in the violence.

Digital slave: Just what it sounds like. You own a chained girl who you can command however you'd like. Slowly introduce her to new horrors so that she learns to tame each one, or suddenly terrorize her and break her mentally. Or maybe you just want to kill her outright, that doesn't end the game, so feel free to try out all the toys you didn't get to while she was alive.

Guro Visual Novel: A guro visual novel. 5 girls, maybe 2 guys if anyone cares to write for me, get them to fall in love with you. Uncover gorgeous art of them falling down the rabbit hole of your sadistic desires. Use affection, drugs, and blackmail to create girls (and 2 guys) that will die for you.

Extensive Text RPG (with lots of pretty pictures): These games always act like they'll let you do *whatever* you want, go anywhere, see anyone, fight monsters how you want, have sex the way you want! But they always stop just short of rape, death, and necrophilia. A horrible text RPG where you can truly go beyond the pale of comfort. Once you have a goblin corpse infront of you, you'll be surprised what options sit there in your mennu besides loot and leave.

We've had long conversations about this in the past, think I was named "Reg" at the time. Lets avoid making this whole thread about that.

The goal would be to make a game that is crowdfunded and free, and even if I decided to go against that, there would be nothing I could do to stop you from sharing it with eachother as a big RAR file. I won't be adding DRM.

I wouldn't know how to implement modding, so it's possible instead that I'll even just give people the entire Unity file so they can edit the game directly.

Well probably it is not worth starting a discussion about that but in terms of paying I actually agree to pay with work but not with money.
If author of this game needs something I can do I will happily join.
as you know I rather do some guro pictures or programming than the job that pays me money because money is paid for shitty jobs and good jobs are usually done for free or you even pay for the privilege to do them. :)

I woud say it is great idea, just as usual I am quite pessimistic about possibility of this happening as it is quite hard to make decent game.
In my opinion if such game is being made it should not be limited to specific guro fetishists but it could be attractive to bigger audience if it has good plot and gameplay.
In fact we have quite a lot of guro games produced but for some reason nobody talks about them on gurochan so before doing something we should look for what is already made.

I had wanted to design a game in Unity where you play as a 1 foot goblin or kobold type creature and you have to trap and capture elves to butcher for meat.

You could start by capturing weak and small elves and eventually work up to the queen who is taller and more difficult while able to use magic.

Elf parts can be harvested and used to craft armor and weapons or more traps. Imagine that Attack on Colossus game. Maybe in VR.

As much as I want to animate some samurai shodown style deaths on cute people, it'd ruin me. I have bills to pay and I can't black-list myself from normie game-dev jobs just to see my game get proudly pirated by the few people interested in the content.

You should focus on making a good game above all else, guro content included. There's a reason most "guro" games are shitty little physics demos using asset store objects or RPGmaker garbage, and thats because any kind of game that makes the fetish the central pillar will be trash, and will only be played by trashy people.

yeah, most sprite guro games seem to just be a vehicle for repetitively animated deaths that last like 30 seconds and lack personality. It's hard to not feel like a creep when the embarrassing girl moans and nasty squish sounds play over everything too. I brought up Samsho mostly because the death was core, usually affected everyone equally, and was snappy and excellent.

It's a shame gamedev is in such a bad spot now, in terms of purity politics, if you make a non-horror game with gore as an artistic choice, you'll catch more heat than if you just made a typical guro game.

I wonder why you say that guro games are somehow shameful or ruin developer's carrier? There are lots of great guro games and normal people like them as well.
and yes for normies Guro = Horror. Happy guro= Horror comedy/surrealism. So no reason to catch any heat. You will catch more heat for incorrect portrayal of gays and transexuals in your game :)

You know the most famous guro artist 774 now is the famous mainstream artist too :)

Even made in that rpg maker they are not necessarily garbage but you need to make them meaningful and artistic, not just some fetish trash like mentioned above.
The problem is that most of them do not have any detailed guro content but rather rely on rough pixel images and text.
But if the game has good story it will be enjoyable not only for guro fans and it will not be limited to the tiny niche of fetishists who fap on samurai girls getting chopped in half LOL

Check out Citadel for a good game that also has heavy ryona/guro elements. I even see people who have no guro inclinations recommend it because it focuses on being a cool shooter, while also having the protag and enemies being very squishy anime girls that get gibbed.

I would rather a game similar to demonophobia, where a Naked and almost helpless female MC trying to find an escape in a world full of monsters that would rather kill or brutally murder them rather than rape after kill. Full of death scenes and rarely sexual but still there.
